The tartan is available in a variety of handcrafted products and
as yardage, through
Bonbright Woolens©,
the largest manufacturer of Scottish products in the Western
Hemisphere. Many of the unique products available are handcrafted
in Los Angeles.
These products, and tartan material, are available for order
through Bonbright Woolens. The California tartan is available in
7, 11, and 13 oz. wool worsted as well as silk.
The products include caps, tams, scarves, belts, ladies tartan
sporrans, ladies tartan belt purses, dog collars, leads, kilts,
kerchiefs, and wee tams, men's neckties, bow ties, cravats,
ascots, banners, cummerbunds, credit card cases, desk sets,
checkbook covers, luggage tags, visors, as well as ladies tartan
skirts, arisaidhs, kilts, and vests for men and women.

The tartan accords the State's natural splendor and history and is
derived from the pattern and sett based on the Muir Family tartan,
but with sufficient originality to be registered with the Scottish
Tartans Society, The Scottish Tartans Authority, and The
World Register of Tartans as a unique tartan. The tartan's blue
reflects the sky, the Pacific, the rivers and mountain tartans,
while the green reflects the Sierras, fields, forests, and parks.
The red, gold, and blue signify the arts, sciences, and industry
of the people of the State of California.
All residents of the State of California may rightfully wear, and
show, the tartan as their own! This includes the wee beastie on
the right whose Scots ancestry is unquestionable!
